Indivisible is a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda. Washington County Indivisible is one of those local groups.

Our Values
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion We value diversity, equity and inclusion in our organization. We all benefit when business and government decisions are informed and guided by values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice. Democracy We believe in real democratic governance at all levels. Individuals should enjoy the freedom to make their own decisions about their own lives. Government policies should reflect the will of the majority, but the voices of the minority must be respected and cannot be silenced. Environmentalism Humans are inseparable from a natural environment. We must preserve our planet for future generations.

A core principle behind all Washington County Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Our Objectives
Protect Good Governance Our democracy depends on a civil service that is dedicated, non-partisan, and talented. We need to recognize its value – and protect the individuals who allow our complex society and economy to function well. Transparency and accountability are essential. Protect Workers’ Rights Workers must be paid a livable wage. They must be appreciated and treated with respect. All workers should have the right to strong union protections. Fair Elections The United States has an election system that grants too much power to the interests of wealthy individuals and corporations. We need to restore fairness to elections and restore democratic governance. Protect Democracy The United States is facing a presidential administration that is aggressively working to dismantle existing democratic governance. We vow to consistently and strongly oppose all the anti-democratic measures of this administration. Community Engagement We must re-build a society that will support democracy. We must develop ways to foster fruitful discussions about important issues and support all members of the community.

Join Washington County Indivisible for weekly email updates
We’ve come a long way since a couple dozen of us met and we collected spare change in a coffee can. Now, WCI numbers more than 300 and we have our own ActBlue fundraising account. This allows easy contributions to our organization.
Don’t worry. We’re still low, low budget – but we do have expenses like material for signs, equipment and hall rentals. Any help you can give us is greatly appreciated and will increase our effectiveness as we continue to fight back against Trump regime policies.
